Georgia Pomaki, PhD, CDMP, is a leader of mental health specialists at Group Disability Benefits, for a national insurance company. In her current role, she leads a team of mental health professionals and is responsible for the development and implementation of best practices for mental health disability claims with the goal of helping employees with mental health issues get their health back and return to work. Georgia has a PhD in Occupational Health Psychology from the University of Leiden.
She previously worked at the Occupational Health and Safety Agency for Healthcare in BC and the University of British Columbia as a researcher in workplace mental health. In collaboration with stakeholders, she has implemented programs to improve mental health in the workplace. These programs focus on the prevention of workplace mental health issues as well as disability management and the return to work of workers with mental health conditions.
She is the lead author of “Best Practices for Return-to-Work/Stay-at-Work Interventions for Workers with Mental Health Conditions”. She has also written more than a dozen research and industry papers on workplace mental health and presents at both national and international conferences on the topic.
