Waqar Mughal, B.Sc., M.Sc., is an experienced occupational health and safety leader with over 20 years in OHS program design, delivery, and management. He has led local and provincial teams that support the health and safety of workforces of 25,000 to 100,000+ workers. He has been principal investigator, a grant recipient and has conducted workplace based OHS research and evaluation across the spectrum of safety, health and disability management. A published author and international presenter, he has expertise in program evaluation, data management, statistical analyses, and evaluation framework development. He helps organizations strategically analyze their large administrative datasets to craft an evidence-based health and safety strategy. He also helps to develop comprehensive evaluation plans that will ensure they can monitor and manage their program effectively and be able to demonstrate their program’s value. He is taking the practice of OHS through an evolution from its traditional, transactional, supportive role to a more informative, data-driven, strategic business practice and an integral part of business operations.
He has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia.
